About the Role
As OKX expands its footprint in the Web3 ecosystem, we are looking for a motivated mid-to-senior-level legal counsel with deep experience in blockchain and decentralized technologies. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our Web3 products—from self-custody wallets to dApp integrations—are developed and launched with rigorous legal oversight.
You’ll work closely with product, engineering, compliance, and business teams to assess risks, interpret evolving regulations, and deliver practical legal guidance in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice on new Web3 product development, feature enhancements, marketing materials, and regulatory changes
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including commercial contracts, terms of service, disclaimers, and internal policies
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate cross-jurisdictional legal support
- Monitor global regulatory developments related to crypto assets, decentralized finance (DeFi), and blockchain technology
- Maintain and communicate standard operating procedures within the Web3 legal team
- Offer day-to-day legal support to business units building decentralized solutions
What We’re Looking For
We seek a legally trained professional with a strong foundation in U.S. law and hands-on experience in the Web3 space. The ideal candidate combines technical understanding with sound judgment and exceptional communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an accredited institution
- Licensed attorney in the United States with 8–15 years of post-qualification experience
- Proven track record advising on blockchain-based products such as self-custody wallets, dApps, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and aggregator platforms
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and product launch timelines
- Demonstrated ability to assess legal and reputational risk in unregulated or emerging regulatory environments
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. sanctions, FinCEN regulations, CFTC rules, and enforcement actions by the DOJ, SEC, CFTC, and OFAC—particularly those involving platforms like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and Uniswap
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong drafting capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines
